Nigel McGuiness is a man who had lost it all after suffering a career ending injury. Through blood, sweat, tears, determination, and some insanely good luck, he's managed to return to the ring in recent years and prove he's still got it. Trading in his broadcast headset for an entry in this tournament, Nigel's had to overcome a leg injury sustained in the first round of the Continental Classic Cup but looks to do his homeland proud by winning against the dominant Moxley at the grandest stage in the finals. Moxley's got a reputation for being one of the toughest in the business; a former 4 time AEW World Champion, leader of The Death Riders, and the best wins-to-losses ratio in the company, he has held the AEW Continental Title since the last tournament where he has since been undefeated in singles competition.
